About the Author:
Carolyn Scott is the creator and powerhouse behind www.HealthyVoyager.com, a site which promotes healthy and green living and travel through its entertaining yet informative travel shows, radio show, product reviews, celebrity interview videos, articles, recipes, weekly giveaways, and more. Since its start in 2005, the Healthy Voyager has garnered media attention from outlets such as CNN, The Huffington Post, VegNews, and Today’s Diet & Nutrition, and now hosts nearly 700,000 subscribers.Carolyn is an avid traveler but found it quite difficult to find vegan friendly restaurants abroad. After realizing she could find and/or manipulate any menu to create a meal that satisfied her as well as her dining partners, she created the Healthy Voyager website to show people that your dietary restrictions should not ruin your travel experience, but rather boost it. Carolyn has been a vegan for more than 10 years, holds a master’s degree in holistic nutrition, and has attended culinary arts school. She also owns Ineventions, a PR & event planning firm, which she began in 2003.

My Review:
I was recently contacted by Quayside Publishing Group; they wanted me to review The Healthy Voyager’s Global Kitchen: 150 Plant-Based Recipes From Around the World,
by Carolyn Scott-Hamilton. I could not refuse! Being Vegan isn’t easy; I know, I’ve tried. While I’m not a Vegan, nor a Vegetarian (any longer), I do try to incorporate Vegetarian/Vegan meals into my family’s menu. Vegans are always looking for exciting, new recipes so this ‘Global’ example meets that need. Scott is already well known in the vegan/restricted-diet world; it’s only natural for her to introduce us to yummy international options! Her Green Tea Ice Cream, is a perfect example!
It doesn’t stop at desserts; oh no! Nori Rolls (Japanese seaweed/veggie rolls), are healthy and low in fat …. perfect in maintaining your body nourished and balanced.
Scott coveries a long list of countries: USA, Latin America, Caribbean Island Nations, United Kingdom, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Greece, Russia, The Middle East, Africa, India, China, Thailand & Vietnam, and Japan. Surely enough of a selection to keep you interested; I am certain!
No longer do you have to drool, while dreaming, about exotic dishes. Just about any diet can be accomodated; by embracing the global plant-based cuisine you too can re-create those meals that you yearn for. Scott shows you how to alter the traditional recipe so that you can enjoy it on your terms/needs.
What a wonderful addition to my cookbook shelf!
